The most sparkling stone you can find: Sphalerite! This stone comes from a closed mine in northern Spain. The mine was closed in 1982 and is located in the middle of the Picos de Europa, a famous and beautiful rugged nature reserve. The stone was mined and polished by hand, after which I knotted it into this piece of jewelry. This is one of those gems that you have to see in real life; the shine is not really visible on your phone or laptop, but you will be completely blown away when you see it in person!
Sphalerite comes in different colors: black, red, orange, yellow, and green. It is very difficult to find crystals that are large enough to cut into a cabochon (a smooth stone suitable for jewelry). Most finds are small and not large enough to cut into a beautiful stone for jewelry. So this is a unique piece!

Their durability depends on how often you wear them and how you care for your necklace. It is best to take them off when showering or sleeping. Just let them ‘rest’ and recharge in a nice place while you sleep or shower (on a stone, crystals, a beautiful wooden bowl, or any other place you like...).
